After a 4–2 loss to Sandpoint Strikers FC in the opener, the Sting responded with a 2–2 draw against Washington East Surf and finished with a 7–4 win over Missoula Strikers FC.     Courtesy photo At the Premier Cup this past weekend in Whitefish, Mont., the Sting SC 16 Girls Yellow soccer team won the championship in the 2016 Girls Silver Bracket, outscoring their opponents 19-6. The team opened with an 8–1 win over Spokane Shadow SC and followed it with a 2–1 victory against Glacier Surf Soccer Club. Sunday the Sting posted a 5–2 win over Washington East Surf Soccer Club and sealed the weekend with another 4–2 victory over Spokane Shadow SC. Saturday morning the Sting tied the Sandpoint Strikers FC 2016B Red Team 4-4. Sting goals were scored by Oliver Lundy, Jackson Martin, Elijah Cline and Jaxson Matheney. Saturday afternoon the Sting lost 5-3 to the Glacier Surf 2016 Boys Blue Team. Sting goals were scored by Lincoln Triebwasser, Emmett Cowan and Jackson Martin. Sunday morning the Sting beat the Missoula Surf 2016 B Team 11-0, securing their position in the finals. Goals were scored by Jaxson Matheney (4) Elijah Cline (2) Oliver Lundy (1) Jackson Martin (3) and Emmett Cowan (1). In the championship game Sunday afternoon the Sting beat the Glacier Surf 2016 Boys Blue team 6-2. Sting goals were scored by Lincoln Triebwasser (1) Jaxson Matheney (1) Elijah Cline (1) and Jackson Martin (3). The Crush will be back this weekend at the USA Preps WA Play for Price tourney in the Tri-Cities.
