Bonners Ferry Girls Volleyball win as they wear pink for Volley for a Cure

Bonners Ferry High School Volleyball hosted their annual Volley for a Cure match on Oct. 8. Facing Timberlake High School, the Badgers won in three sets. Volley for a Cure is an event that occurs throughout the country, traditionally to raise awareness for breast cancer. 

After a hard-fought loss last week, the Badgers bounced back at home. The first set started very back and forth and the teams were tied 10-10. From then on, Bonners Ferry dominated the rest of the set, winning 25-16. 

In the second set, Bonners Ferry jumped out to a quick 8-2 lead. Timberlake was unable to stage a comeback and the Badgers won 25-18. 

In the final set, Bonners Ferry was down 18-22 before they were able to complete the 3-0 sweep with a 28-26 win, setting off celebrations amongst the players, who wore pink for the annual event. Many in the crowd wore pink as well. 

The final score was 25-16, 25-18, 28-26.
