MOSES LAKE – One person is dead after a collision east of Moses Lake Thursday afternoon.
The collision occurred at a little after 2 p.m. on South Frontage Road East at the westbound off-ramp from I-90 to Road O Southeast, according to Grant County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Kyle Foreman. A passenger vehicle collided with a 10-wheel truck hauling a trailer of dry fertilizer, Foreman said.
“The driver of the passenger car, the only occupant of the car, is dead,” Foreman said. “The driver of the 10-wheel truck is OK.”
Road O was closed for investigation, cleanup and removal of vehicles, and traffic was detoured to other routes.
No information was immediately available about the deceased or the cause of the incident. This story will be updated as new information becomes available.

Valentine’s Day cards flood Brookdale Hearthstone with love
MOSES LAKE — Residents at Brookdale Hearthstone Assisted Living in Moses Lake got Valentine’s Day greetings from across the country last month. “I believe that the only states we have not received (cards from) yet are Vermont and Maine,” Lifestyle Director Imelda Broyles said Feb. 24. “We keep receiving new cards every single day. They have not stopped. My residents are in awe with every single one of the cards that we’ve been receiving.” The Hearts Across America project started as a way for children in school classrooms to exchange Valentine’s Day cards with classes in other states or even countries, but the idea has expanded to senior living facilities, according to the project’s social media.
