Renowned pianist joins Glacier Symphony for dramatic opening weekend

Celebrated pianist Alon Goldstein once again joins the Glacier Symphony to perform dramatic works by Ludwig van Beethoven and Gustav Mahler in Emperor & Titan: Mahler 1.
Concerts will feature Beethoven’s distinguished Piano Concerto No. 5 in E flat major, known as “Emperor,” and Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 in D major, known as “Titan.” The program also includes Grammy Award-winning composer Jessie Montgomery’s “Hymn for Everyone,” a piece she composed in 2021 as a reflection on the challenging times of the pandemic.
The concerts will be held at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 18 and 3 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Wachholz College Center, 795 Grandview Dr., Kalispell. Tickets range in price from $15 to $74. Tickets for students 13 and up are $25. Students 12 and under are free. All prices include service fees. Tickets may be purchased online at wachholzcollegecenter.org.
The two concerts usher in Glacier Symphony’s 43rd season — Illuminating the Beyond. On tap this season will be performances of soundtracks by composer John Williams and guest artists such as Anna Shelest and Sheng Cai. The season also includes performances of “The Nutcracker,” featuring the San Diego Ballet, and an Alpine Theatre Project production of “West Side Story.”
