Volleyball roundup: Ronan sweeps Browning

The Maidens gave their home crowd plenty to cheer about Saturday, sweeping Browning 25-8, 25-21, 25-19 in a Northwest A conference volleyball matchup.

Ronan (8-11 overall) came out swinging in the opening set, overwhelming the Lady Indians with crisp passing and aggressive serving. Senior Olivia Cheff led the charge at the net with nine kills and a .412 hitting percentage, while also adding two blocks. Junior Anaka Hardy chipped in five kills and matched Cheff with two total blocks, keeping Browning’s offense off rhythm.

Senior setter Sarah Templer kept the offense moving with 20 assists and perfect serving accuracy on 14 attempts. Freshman Marie Cheff also impressed from the service line, going a flawless 18-for-18 with three aces and 11 assists, giving Ronan a steady lift in the second and third sets.

Defensively, junior Aubrey Krell was all over the court, collecting 15 digs and anchoring a back row that limited Browning’s scoring opportunities. Hallie Samsel added six digs and two kills, while sophomore Hosanna Wilson contributed two kills and three digs.

Polson Stays Perfect in League Play

The Polson Pirates continued their dominant run through Northwest A competition Tuesday night, defeating Bigfork in four sets, 25-14, 25-22, 15-25, 25-19, to remain unbeaten in league play.

With the victory, Polson improved to 8-0 in Northwest A play
