COLUMBIA BASIN — Fall fun is everywhere as we reach the middle of October. Here are a few things happening in the Basin this week.
Oct. 10
H.E. Gritman Senior Center Fundraising Breakfast
Enjoy a homemade breakfast of pancakes and sausage or biscuits and gravy and sausage. Cost is $7 and all ages are welcome. All proceeds go to support the activities at the Senior Center. 7:30-10 a.m. at 118 W. Main Ave., Ritzville. Info: 509-659-1921.
Homecoming Tailgate Party

‘John Candy: I Like Me’
Explores the life and legacy of iconic comedic actor John Candy, who passed away in 1994 at the age of 43, in a documentary directed by Colin Hanks. Maria Pearson Book Signing

AI and Youth Loneliness
A thoughtful discussion on AI chatbots and their impact on youth, human connection, and social isolation. Explore a wide range of hidden objects found in the back rooms of museums in our state and around the country, like a Spokane institution that holds Bing Crosby’s toupées and a museum in Lynden that’s home to a 150-year-old pickle. ‘Little Shop of Horrors’
The Masquers Theater presents the dark musical comedy by Disney veterans Alan Menken and Howard Ashman. Seymour Krelborn is a meek and dejected assistant at a floral shop who happens upon a strange plant, which he affectionately names “Audrey II” after his crush at the shop. Little does he know that this strange and unusual plant will develop a soulful R&B voice, a potty mouth and an unquenchable thirst for human blood. Cars, Cops, Coffee and First Responders
Family-friendly show-and-shine event to salute and thank police, firefighters and other first responders. Children can check out classic cars, motorcycles, trucks, hot rods, and first responder vehicles, grab lunch or some coffee or a sweet treat, and pick up a sticker or two. Pumpkin Run

Othello Fall Festival
Join the Greater Othello Chamber of Commerce at Kiwanis Park in Othello for its annual Fall Festival from noon to 10 p.m. on a Saturday. The event will include a trunk or treat, contests, food and family activities. A variety of vendors will be on hand for a little fall shopping.
Fall Craft Event

Autism Rides
Join Autism Support Group of Grant County for an afternoon of fun, connection, and horse riding. Youth Dynamics Fundraiser & Auction
Offer support to a local nonprofit youth ministry that works to connect students with caring adults and faith.
