PREP VOLLEYBALL: Anderson, Lane post double-doubles in Lady Cats loss
MAX OSWALD | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 2 months, 3 weeks AGO
I grew up in the small town of Orwigsburg, Pa., where I resided all of my life before moving to Sandpoint. I attended Blue Mountain High School, where I participated in cross country and track and field, a sport that I ended up falling in love with. I went on to attend and run for DeSales University (with other brief stints at Susquehanna University and Elizabethtown College) and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sport communication with a minor in sport management. I remember just how great it made me feel when I was mentioned in my hometown newspaper. I want to be able to give that feeling to every athlete in Bonner County, no matter how big or small their accomplishments are. As an athlete myself, I know how many hours of work are put in on a daily basis, and that hard work deserves to be recognized. It is my goal to cover as much of the Bulldogs, Spartans and Wampus Cats as I can. I want to work with every athlete, parent, coach, administrator and the community to ensure the best stories are published. | October 10, 2025 3:30 PM
Bonners Ferry 3, Clark Fork 1
BONNERS FERRY — Freshman Kiylah Anderson set up a team-high 29 assists and added in a tied for team-high 12 digs, senior Aurora Lane produced a team-high 10 kills and 10 digs of her own as the Lady Cats fell shy of the Lady Badgers (19-25, 25-19, 25-15, 25-23) in a four-set non-league match held Thursday at Bonners Ferry High.
Anderson surpassed 100 digs on the season with the effort and also served up three aces for Clark Fork, which never trailed during their six-point first set victory. Senior Piper Scarlett chipped in 12 digs and three aces, surpassing 50 aces on the season in the process, in what was the Lady Cats' regular season finale.
"The girls came out playing probably some of our best ball of the season, we just weren't able to keep that level up throughout the match," Clark Fork High head coach Lyndsie Kiebert-Carey said. "Our attack was nice and spread out and we had some great back row attacks. It was some of the scrappiest defense we've played ... that's a hard thing to train, so I'm proud of them for owning that as part of their identity this year."
Nora-Jean Hoy eclipsed 60 aces on the season with her team-high six-ace performance. The junior middle blocker also registered nine kills and six digs on the night while freshman Vanessa Rogier recorded seven kills and five digs.
No. 3 Clark Fork (8-8) will travel to No. 2 Wallace (12-7) for the first round of the 2A District 1-2 tournament on Wednesday, Oct. 15. The tournament will be played in a double-elimination format.
