SAGLE — A prior sex offender who resides in Sagle was arrested earlier this week on additional allegations of sexual misconduct toward two minors under sixteen.

Donald J. Lavare, 53, was arrested Oct. 7 and charged with two counts of child sexual abuse by soliciting a minor and one count of lewd conduct with a minor for incidents that allegedly occurred in June.

Lavare is currently being held at the Bonner County Jail on a $750,000 bond.

He could face life in prison if found guilty of the felonies, in addition to an enhanced sentence for being convicted of first-degree sexual abuse and second-degree rape of a minor in 1996 while living in New York.

Lavare is already registered as a sex offender for the 1996 offenses.

According to the New York sex offender registry, Lavare has resided in New York, Indiana and Idaho.

Court documents on the case against Lavare are sealed due to the sensitive nature of the files but indicate that Lavare is being charged for allegedly soliciting two minors, aged six and seven, to participate in a sexual act.

Lavare is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 22 for a preliminary hearing.
