Chorale Coeur d’Alene is opening its 25th anniversary season with “Our Legacy of Song” concert at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 812 N. Fifth St., Coeur d'Alene.

The concert, which follows a Friday event, will celebrate a quarter century of music with a program drawn from works the ensemble has performed over the past 25 years, honoring the singers, audiences and community that have shaped its story.

“This season is both a remembrance and a celebration,” Board Chair Rachel Jordan said in a Monday news release. “For 25 years, our singers have come together to create something larger than themselves, and our audiences have been part of that journey every step of the way. This concert is a way to say thank you and to honor the legacy we’re building together.”

Artistic Director Joshua Chism said “Our Legacy of Song" is more than just a performance.

"It is a heartfelt tribute to the countless musicians, composers and choristers who have dedicated their lives to this beautiful art form,” he said. “We stand on the shoulders of those who came before us — whose vision and passion laid the foundation for the vibrant choral community we celebrate now. Every piece you will hear has been programmed at some point in our 25-year history, making this concert both a reflection and a renewal.”

General admission is $35; $29 for senior and military; and $15 for students. Visit choralecda.com/tickets for tickets and info. Early booking is recommended as concerts often sell out.

The 25th anniversary season, titled “Past, Present and Future,” highlights the ensemble’s legacy and its forward momentum with four diverse programs:

• "Our Legacy of Song"

The season opener is a tribute to 25 years of singing, bringing back favorite works from across the chorale’s history and centering on Gabriel Fauré’s beloved "Requiem." Every piece on the program has previously been performed by Chorale Coeur d’Alene, making this concert a living reflection of its journey.

• "Comfort and Joy," Dec. 8-9

A holiday tradition in Coeur d’Alene, this program will combine timeless carols with new seasonal arrangements. Audience members will be invited to celebrate the warmth, peace and festive spirit of the season.

• "Music of the Moment," March 20-21, 2026

This program will place the spotlight on the voices of Chorale singers. The repertoire will be chosen by current members, reflecting what feels meaningful, relevant and inspiring to the ensemble. Shaped by the present moment, these concerts will offer a glimpse into the heart of who the Chorale's members are today.

• "Unfolding Horizons," May 15-16, 2026

The season finale will look to the future, previewing Chorale Coeur d’Alene’s upcoming Carnegie Hall residency. This program includes Dan Forrest’s "Te Deum" and a new commission by Patti Drennan, works that point toward the next chapter of the Chorale’s story.

Together, these concerts honor the past, celebrate the present and cast a hopeful vision for the future of choral music in the Inland Northwest and beyond.

Chorale Coeur d’Alene is a community chorus of more than 120 auditioned singers dedicated to presenting sacred and secular choral masterworks with excellence, heart and purpose. The ensemble rehearses weekly, performs four concerts annually and serves as a gathering place for lifelong musicians across the Inland Northwest.
