Dr. Dennis Corsini passed Monday, Sept. 29, 2025, in Sandpoint, Idaho, after his two-year fight with cancer; to the end, he faced the disease with grace and humor.

He was born Nov. 8, 1942, to Leo and Rose Corsini in Los Angeles, Calif. After attending University of California Los Angeles, he and Gale moved to northern Idaho where he attended graduate school in the biochemistry program at the University of Idaho and earned his Ph.D. His post doctorate work was done at U.C. Riverside after which he was hired as a plant pathologist in the potato breeding program at the Aberdeen research and extension center.

After serving as a research scientist and affiliate professor of plant pathology for the University of Idaho for 30 years, he and Gale retired to Sandpoint, spending summers there and winters in their second home near Joshua Tree National Park.

Dennis was an avid hunter, and he enjoyed reading, backpacking, hiking and camping. Above all, he loved his family. He will be missed

He is survived by his wife, Gale Corsini; and three children, Joe, Tony and Maria; a canine friend, Smokey; and his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many relatives.
