Washington State football home-and-home vs. Mississippi State cancelled
The home-and-home football series between Washington State and Mississippi State, scheduled for 2030 and 2031, has been cancelled, WSU announced.
Mississippi State is exercising a clause in the original game contract, which permits new scheduling parameters adopted by the Southeastern Conference to void the contract without financial penalty to either party. In August of this year, the conference announced that beginning in 2026, each SEC team will be playing nine conference games, a change from eight in prior years.
While Mississippi State is no longer scheduled, future Cougar schedules include nonconference games against foes including Arizona (2026-27) Washington (2026-28), Kansas State (2026, 2029), Kansas (2027-28), Virginia (2031) and Texas Tech (2032).
