BOZEMAN — Adam Jones ran for 173 yards and the Montana State Bobcats totaled 384 rush yards as a team in a 48-14 victory over Idaho State in Big Sky Football Saturday at Bobcat Stadium.

Jones found the end zone once for the Bobcats (5-2 overall, 3-0 in Big Sky games) — a 24-yard scamper early in the second quarter — while Justin Lamson and Pat Duchien added scores on the ground.

Lamson used his arm as well Saturday, throwing four touchdown passes, including two to Rocky Lencioni. Lamson finished the day 17 of 21 for 184 yards.

Julius Davis ran the ball eight times for 65 yards and caught a 22-yard touchdown to open the scoring in the first quarter.

The Bengals (2-5, 1-2 BSC) found their stride in the passing game, Jordan Cooke had 307 yards through the air on 20-for-37 throwing. He threw two touchdowns and one interception.

Davis Harsin went 6-for-11 with one interception for the Bengals in relief of Cooke.

Michael Shulikov had 10 catches for 124 yards and a touchdown, while Tsion Nunnally had nine grabs for 169 yards and a score. Nunnally’s 69-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter made it a 20-14 Bobcat lead, Montana State scored the next 28 points to close out the win.

Montana State’s defense stopped the Bengals rushing attack in its tracks, holding them to 36 yards on 17 attempts.

Montana State now heads into a bye week before going on the road to take on Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo on Oct. 25 at 6 p.m.
