Oct. 14, 1975 – FOOTBALL FESTIVITIES

For Friday’s Homecoming football game at Memorial Field (Coeur d’Alene won 7-0), wrestling cheerleaders Mindi McCormick, Chris Likens, and Verna Leckner added their support to SHS football cheerleaders Linda Stagland, Deanna Rench and Karen Williams. At half-time, Queen Debbie Olsen was crowned. Runners-up were Satu Paasio, Diana Madsen, Marla Spielman and Sue Self.

NEW OFFICERS ELECTED BY CHAMBER

The Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce Directors officers for the coming year are: President, Bob Farmin, replacing Bill Watkins; First vice president, Fred Darnell; second and third vice presidents, Gary Pietsch and Tom Robideaux. Barb Remmers will again serve as the Chamber secretary.

FALL DEANERY MEETING HELD

The fall deanery meeting for northern Idaho was held at Spirit Lake Oct. 9th. Bishop Treinen of Boise celebrated Mass at St. Joseph’s Church, Spirit Lake, with a luncheon after at the Civic Center. Attending from St. Joseph’s Church in Sandpoint were Rev. John O’Donovan and Mmes. Anna Woodland, Irene Sundquist, Gil Scribner, Beulah Bowlden, Donna Fields, Lucille Hudon, Alice List, Floy Kemmis, Elsie Temple, Mary Perry, Maxine Quebral, and Religious Instruction coordinator, Miss Barbara Irgens.

Oct. 14, 1950 – WILL PLAY IN NAVY BAND

John McKensie, solo trumpet player of the SHS band, has been selected to represent Sandpoint at the Coeur d’Alene chamber of commerce-sponsored appearance of the navy band in that city on Oct. 26. Other outstanding band students from north Idaho high schools will also participate in the concerts.

 AREA STUDENTS AT ISC, POCATELLO

Fifteen students area students are enrolled at ISC at Pocatello for the first semester. Pauline Crawford, Careywood, is a freshman pre-nursing major; Arthur A. Randall, Sagle, and John T. Dunn, Kootenai, are seniors in pharmacy; From Sandpoint are freshmen LaMar Monson, general; Josephine Fangrud, art-architecture; Ted Harden,  Lois C. Janzen, Monte B. Sidwell and Gail McNary, education; sophomore Gary L. Nalder, pharmacy; seniors Floyd Clifford and Mervin D. Selle, business admin. and Frank Gold, Chemistry. Vocational students are Robert Poulson, welding, and William D. Kelsey, electricity.

TO PLAY IN RECITAL!

Three accordion students of H.S. Arnold will play in a recital in Coeur d’Alene: Dorothy Jean Keller, Sagle; Lois Ann Johnson, Cocolalla; and Chester Whitney, Sandpoint, who will be featured in a solo.

NEWS FROM CLARK FORK

Mrs. Mabel Green is at Hot Springs for two weeks. 

Miss Lois Derr, who attends the U of I, spent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Derr.
