NO. 2842 NOTICE OF PUBLICATION OF CATEGORICAL EXCLUSION CITY OF WHITEFISH, MONTANA SOUTH ELEVATED STORAGE TANK October 1, 2025  The Montana Department of Environmental Quality has reviewed the above-named project. The project consists of constructing a 1-million-gallon elevated storage reservoir and its components  including site work and an engineered foundation. The storage tank is proposed to be located on City of Whitefish property 0.18 miles south of 18th Street W. and 0.39 miles west of Highway 93 at Lat 48.393623, Long -114.343740. The proposed project will provide additional storage and  improved pressure regulation on the south side of Whitefish.  Pursuant to ARM 17.40.318, the Department has concluded that the proposed project meets the  Categorical Exclusion criteria of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the Montana  Environmental Policy Act (MEPA). The Categorical Exclusion may be revoked if the project is not  initiated within the time period specified in the planning documents, a new or modified application is submitted, new evidence demonstrates serious local or environmental issues exist, or state, local,  tribal, or federal laws are violated.
