Daphne Ann (Dvorak) Kirkwood, 72
Whitefish Pilot | UPDATED 1 month, 3 weeks AGO
Daphne Ann (Dvorak) Kirkwood, 72, passed away on Sept. 9, 2025, while visiting one of her dear friends in Whitefish.
Daphne was born on Aug. 7, 1953, to Vincent and Lillian Dvorak in Dickinson, North Dakota. While a young child, she and her family moved to Montana where she attended school and enjoyed the outdoors around the mountains, lakes, and streams. As an adult she became a waitress and bartender and loved being around people. She knew how to work a table and people often asked for her to be their server. She was a great listener and knew when to share a few wild stories of her own — and boy did she have some. She also became a food caterer and could put together an amazing spread for any occasion. She loved to see the smiles on everyone’s face while they enjoyed her work. She worked mostly in Billings and the Salem, Oregon area.
She loved taking long road trips on the back of a motorcycle and jumped at any opportunity she could to visit the ocean. She enjoyed walking bare footed on the beaches and often talked about the wonderful sunsets she got to see while there. She loved her kitties and spending time with them gave her great joy.
Daphne is survived by her mother, Lillian Dvorak of Apache Junction, Arizona, son, Jesse Miller of Salem, Oregon, grandchildren, Khali, Brittany, and Marcus, also of Oregon; siblings, Gary (Linda) Dvorak of Barnegate, New Jersey, Jeff (Darlene) Dvorak of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Greg (Ronda) Dvorak of Eureka, and Donna (Chris) Watson of Hamilton, Ohio, and partner, Bill Brewton of Newberg, Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her father, Vincent Dvorak.
Her family will have a private ceremony in her memory per her request. Daphne had a sweet heart and will be dearly missed.
