Facing Clark Fork on Senior Night (or AdleeMae Robles night, as she is the only senior), Bonners Ferry Girls Volleyball started off slow, losing the first set 19-25 as they fell behind early and never came close to coming back in the set.
However, the second set was a different story as after an even first part, the Badgers pulled away to win 25-19.
Looking like a completely different team from the first set, Bonners Ferry started the third set with a 9-1 run, before dominating 25-15 to take a 2-1 lead in the match.
In a nail biting fourth set, the Badgers battled. Initially losing 5-2 to Clark Fork, they had a 13-9 lead before the game was tied at 21. The Badgers ultimately won 25-23 after several rallies, securing the victory for AdleeMae and the passionate home crowd.
Junior Taren Bateman had a terrific game, taking over at certain points to drive the Badgers forward. Junior Eva Willis was immense in the final set as she helped close out the game.
Freshman Jaycee Bateman was instrumental in several points and freshman Josie Rennie had a run of serves to put the Badgers on the front foot. All in all, Bonners Ferry played well in every facet of the game.
Bonners Ferry is 1-1 in conference play. They will face Timberlake in a best of three series from Oct 20-22. If the Badgers win, they’ll go to Lewiston for a state-play in. If Bonners Ferry wins that game, they will go to the state playoffs.
Score (Bonners Ferry first): 19-25, 25-19, 25-15, 25-23
