PREP VOLLEYBALL: Clark Fork falls to Wallace in district tournament match

I grew up in the small town of Orwigsburg, Pa., where I resided all of my life before moving to Sandpoint. I attended Blue Mountain High School, where I participated in cross country and track and field, a sport that I ended up falling in love with. I went on to attend and run for DeSales University (with other brief stints at Susquehanna University and Elizabethtown College) and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sport communication with a minor in sport management. I remember just how great it made me feel when I was mentioned in my hometown newspaper. I want to be able to give that feeling to every athlete in Bonner County, no matter how big or small their accomplishments are. As an athlete myself, I know how many hours of work are put in on a daily basis, and that hard work deserves to be recognized. It is my goal to cover as much of the Bulldogs, Spartans and Wampus Cats as I can. I want to work with every athlete, parent, coach, administrator and the community to ensure the best stories are published. | October 16, 2025 2:00 PM

Wallace 3, Clark Fork 0

WALLACE — Senior Piper Scarlett served up a team-high five aces, senior Aurora Lane and junior Nora-Jean Hoy tallied a tied for team-high five kills, and the No. 3 Lady Cats were defeated by the No. 2 Lady Miners in straight sets (25-12, 25-17, 25-19) in a 2A District 1-2 tournament matchup held Wednesday night at Wallace High.

Freshman Kiylah Anderson set up a team-high 12 assists, Scarlett chipped in two kills, and Hoy and freshman Vanessa Rogier recorded one ace apiece. Defensively, Hoy added two solo blocks while Lane put together a team-high 10 digs, Scarlett nine digs and Hoy and Rogier eight digs each.

"We executed our gameplan well from the service line, but our offensive struggled," Clark Fork High head coach Lyndsie Kiebert-Carey said of her team, which led late in the third set before an unanswered Wallace run. "It was a tough night for that to be our reality, but luckily something in our control as the tournament continues."

Clark Fork (8-9) will host No. 4 Genesis Prep (2-13) for a 2A District 1-2 loser-out game Saturday at 2 p.m. The winner will face off against the loser of No. 1 Lakeside/No. 2 Wallace at North Idaho College at 7 p.m. Monday.
