The Ronan City Council held a short and sweet meeting on Oct. 8.

The main business was a vote to begin the process of annexing the Mink Lane softball fields and the sewer lagoon area into Ronan.

Council members also approved Safe Harbor’s request for an open container permit for its annual fundraiser at the Community Center on Oct. 25 from 4 to 11 p.m.

Several council members had positive comments for Dan Miller, director of public works, and his crew for how great the park and streets look.

The next meeting will be held Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. Ronan City Hall.

“Great communities are built on volunteers”

Cars and trucks lined Main Street in Polson to collect Thanksgiving dinners from the Elks Club last Thursday. The drive-through dinner, commandeered by field marshal Tracy Plaiss, served 1,800 Thanksgiving dinners, made from scratch. A few miles south, the Ronan Community Thanksgiving dinner filled a room in the Boys and Girls Club with tables of visiting people and the aromas of roasting turkey and savory dressing.
