The Spiritsong Women’s Choir and Boundless Vocal Ensemble will present “Inside Out: Reflections on Life in an Earthsuit”, a choral theater work combining spoken word and song that explores the wonder of the human body and spirit.
Performances are scheduled for Friday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. at Little Carnegie Hall in Sandpoint at the Sandpoint Music Conservatory; Saturday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bonners Ferry; and Sunday, Oct. 26, at 3 p.m. at the Kootenay River Secondary School Auditorium in Creston, British Columbia, in Canada.
Performers hail from Sandpoint, Bonners Ferry, Creston, Carson City, Nevada, and Spokane, Washington. Admission is by donation at the door. Proceeds will support the Second Harvest Food Truck, which serves families in Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry, and the Creston Refugee Committee, the longest-running refugee committee in Canada.
“Inside Out” features a mix of choral music — from serious compositions to upbeat tunes — interwoven with spoken reflections on body, heart, mind, and soul.
The performance is created and conducted by Vicki Blake Thompson, with Barb Nelson as collaborative pianist. Spiritsong is a 30-voice open women’s choir, while Boundless is a 16-voice auditioned chamber ensemble with balanced men’s and women’s voices that also performs in small group formats.
The choirs have earned standing ovations at regional music educator gatherings and have toured internationally in countries including Cuba, Iceland, Greece, China, Tanzania, Costa Rica, Ireland, and Austria. They have also performed twice at Carnegie Hall.
Their next tour is scheduled for London and Scotland in summer 2026. Interested singers should contact Vicki Blake Thompson at [email protected] for audition or interview information.
