Daily Inter-Lake | UPDATED 2 months, 1 week AGO
| October 17, 2025 12:00 AM

Sacred Heart at No. 4/4 Montana

When: Saturday, 1 p.m. TV: MTN. Web: ESPN+; Radio: Grizzly Radio Network. Where: Washington-Grizzly Stadium (25,217, FieldTurf). Records: FCS Independent Sacred Heart is 5-2. UM is 6-0.

When the Pioneers have the ball: Freshman Mitchell Summers, fresh off a 243-yard game against Howard, is 11th in the FCS in rushing with 638 yards. He has five touchdowns. Quarterback Jack Snyder has run for another 345 yards and 4 scores while completing 70 percent of his passes for 1,042 yards and 5 TDs. Jason Palmieri caught three of those scores and Payton Rhodes (23 catches, 295 yards) has the other two. Kevin McGuire (24 – 269) was out last week.

When the Grizzlies have the ball: Running back Eli Gillman is coming off his fourth 100-yard game of the season, and only Southern Utah’s Joshua Dye (13) has more rushing TDs this season than his 11. Keali’i Ah Yat is second in the Big Sky Conference and sixth in the FCS in passing yards with 1,693. He has 9 TDs against 6 interceptions. Michael Wortham (three TD catches) and Brooks Davis (2) are Ah Yat’s top targets, but six Grizzlies have caught TD passes – and Wortham has thrown one.

Notable: This is the first meeting between the Griz and Pioneers. ... Wortham leads the PCS in all-purpose yardage at 170 a game. ... SHU led unbeaten Lehigh 7-0 back on Sept. 6 thanks to Dean Hangey’s TD off the opening kickoff but gained just 177 yards in a 28-10 loss. ... Summers had just two carries against Lehigh but has averaged 20 carries and 104 yards in five games since. ... Elijawah Tolbert hs 39 tackles to lead the Griz defense. ... Maximus Mongelli, Kyle Hall and Daimon Jacobs all have 30-plus tackles for the Pioneers.

The Pick: Grizzlies, 49-19.
