James 'Jim' D. Taylor, 75

James "Jim" D. Taylor was born in Wallace, Idaho, on May 15, 1950, to Carl and Doretha Taylor, joining brothers Bill and Stan and sister Erma. 

He was raised in Wallace, attended school there and graduated. He then graduated from NIC and the University of Idaho. Jim passed away Sept. 28, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. 

He married Carol Yount, later divorcing. He taught auto shop in Priest River and worked with students with learning disabilities in Kellogg and Wallace. He taught many students and was proud of them. After he quit teaching, he built homes in Coeur d'Alene and the local area. He later did art projects at home and in a flat near his home. His art projects were sold in Wallace. Jim was well known in the area. He helped build houses for Habitat. He was known for lending a helping hand when needed. He did many partial builds and repairs with his good friend, Mike Heglund. He had many friends in his life, especially Carol Taylor, Tom Berger, and Terri Clark — a special thanks to Sheila and Mike for their care and help with Jim. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Doretha Taylor; two brothers, Bill and Stan Taylor; their wives; and a niece, Tine Babor, and a nephew, Don Taylor. He is survived by his sister, Erma Dunn of Osburn, Idaho, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. 

There will not be any services at this time, but there will be a celebration of life for Jim next spring/summer.
