The North Idaho Music Teachers Association will celebrate its 25th anniversary from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Music Conservatory of Coeur d’Alene in recognition of National Arts and Humanities Month.

NIMTA’s 25th anniversary is a milestone and a springboard. The celebration will bring together students, alumni and teachers to share live performances and reflections on how the Music Teachers National Association has shaped their lives and careers. With meaningful moments and favorite pieces from the past, the program will highlight the power of music to connect generations.

Beyond honoring its history, the event will aim to spark new energy for music education, inspire future students and strengthen community ties throughout North Idaho.

“We chose the music conservatory as our venue because of its rich history as a residence of many musicians over the years and its ongoing commitment to musical excellence in our community,” President Alyssa Jacobs said in an Oct. 7 news release. "It’s a perfect setting to celebrate the NIMTA teachers, students and families who have built a thriving culture of music education in North Idaho.”

Looking ahead to the next 25 years, Jacobs said the mission will be to connect and empower musicians across North Idaho.

"Collaboration has always been at the heart of NIMTA," she said. "When teachers, students and community partners come together, the impact of music education multiplies. Our next chapter is about momentum: building partnerships, expanding opportunities and celebrating the diverse musical voices that make our region so vibrant."

Founded in 2000, the NIMTA is an affiliate of the Idaho and National Music Teachers associations, dedicated to advancing the value of music study and teaching. Through student festivals, teacher enrichment programs and collaborative performances, NIMTA has empowered countless students to discover their creative potential and pursue musical excellence.

The 25th anniversary celebration is free and open to the public.

The Music Conservatory of Coeur d'Alene is at 627 N. Government Way.
