Ronald Edward Sverdsten, 58

Ronald “Ron” Edward Sverdsten, 58, of Pinehurst, Idaho, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away Oct. 8, 2025, at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Ronald was born Feb. 9, 1967, in Grants Pass, Ore. 

Ron graduated from Kellogg High School and later enlisted in the U.S. Navy, proudly serving from 1985 until 1987. He was a truck driver for many years at Zanetti Brothers in Osburn, Idaho, and at Stewart Contracting in Pinehurst, Idaho. Ron married Shannon Marie Gilman on June 4, 1993, in Wallace, Idaho. 

He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, tinkering around in his shop and drawing and coloring while he was a resident at Mountain Valley of Cascadia in Kellogg, Idaho. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. His three canine companions — JackJack, Chelsee and Charity — will miss him. 

Ron is preceded in death by his father, Terry Sverdsten, and his mother, Dee (Duea) Sverdsten, and by two brothers-in-law, Randy Anderson and Vincent Gilman. 

Survivors include his loving wife, Shannon Marie Sverdsten, of Pinehurst, Idaho; three children, Stephanie Sverdsten of Osburn, Idaho, Ashley Kuykendall of Smelterville, Idaho, and Benjamin Sverdsten of Pinehurst, Idaho; eight grandchildren, Carolyn, Ian, Tristen, Mariefaith, Ronnie, Russell, Nevaeh and Ashley; three siblings, Lucia Anderson of Cataldo, Idaho, David (Suzi) Sverdsten of Cataldo, Idaho, and Paul Sverdsten of Cataldo, Idaho; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

At Ron’s request, cremation has taken place, and no services are planned.
