DRAPER, Utah — Sophomore Allie Ferrin had 11 kills for North Idaho College in a 25-19, 25-17, 25-12 Scenic West Athletic Conference loss to fifth-ranked Salt Lake Community College on Friday at Corner Canyon High School.

“We really went for it at the service line, but it was just too many errors to get into a rhythm,” NIC coach Drew Pascua said. “Right now, our goal is to make the top four in conference. So we learn from tonight against a really solid team and we use it help us move forward. If we do our job over the next two weeks, it’s a good chance we’re going to see them again.”

The match was moved 13 miles to Draper from the Bruins campus in Taylorsville due to a water main break at the school’s Lifetime Activities Center.

Sophomore Rylie Dolven had 14 assists for NIC (13-10, 2-4 SWAC), which faces Colorado Northwestern (3-19, 0-6) today at noon in Rangely, Colo.

Cameron Zajer had 10 kills for Salt Lake (18-3, 5-0).
