Senior forward Joseph Nicklay had two second half goals for Coeur d’Alene Charter.
“I was happy with how we played in the second half,” said Coeur d’Alene Charter coach Craig Daigle, whose team led 3-0 at halftime. “The first half was a little slow for us. But we did some adjustments at halftime, moved some people around and played a little bit of a different formation and was able to keep the pressure on Timberlake the entire second half. I was very satisfied with our passing and possession. Anthony did a real nice job for us up top today.”

POST FALLS — Senior Reagan Meine and junior Sierra Sheppard scored first-half goals for the top-seeded Panthers in a win over the fourth-seeded Bulldogs in a 4A District 1-2 semifinal match at The Fields at Real Life, clinching a 13th straight trip to the state tournament.
“It was good to get the weight of the semifinal game off our backs,” Coeur d’Alene Charter coach Stacy Smith said. “We saw some pretty good passing combinations early on and put quite a bit of pressure on their back line and keeper. After finishing a few goals in the first half, we played a little too direct and scattered. Eventually, we settled down and played more complete game.”
Coeur d’Alene Charter (11-1-1) faces Timberlake in the championship match today at 5 p.m. at The Fields at Real Life. Timberlake beat Bonners Ferry 1-0 in the other semifinal on Friday.
Both the Panthers and Tigers advanced to state starting next Thursday at Meridian High.
