Barry Vaughan Harris passed away Oct. 5, 2025. He was born Sept. 15, 1941, in Washington, D.C., to Robert Bowers Harris and Evelyn Lucille (White) Harris.
He grew up in Vienna, Va., and worked for the Federal government before moving to San Diego, Calif., and then Los Angeles. Throughout his career, he helped organizations use technology to improve business and streamline operations. In 1977, he met his wife, Kathy, and they were married in 1978. In 1981, they had their son, Todd, and moved to Fallbrook, Calif., in 1983. In 1985, they moved to Pittsburgh, Pa., and then to Lenexa, Kan., in 1989. They came to Idaho in 2007, after his retirement. Barry had a passion for unusual words, motor sports and was a superb pool player. He was a friend of Bill’s for over 52 years and made many friends along the way.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy, son Todd (Katie) and grandchildren Elise and Gabriel.
A celebration of his life will be held Oct. 25 at 1 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1011 N. Compton, Post Falls. Donations can be made in his remembrance to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. www.cff.org.
