Sandpoint (7-11) hosts Moscow (13-14) in a loser-out match on Tuesday.

“We put up a strong fight against Sandpoint in a competitive playoff match,” Lakeland coach Kelsie Badger said. “Kindell and Jaeli had an outstanding night controlling the offense and leading the team in kills. Raygen was a force at the net, keeping the energy high throughout the match. Anabel came in clutch with key blocks that shifted momentum, while Chloe anchored the defense, picking up several aggressive hits from the Bulldogs.”

Lewiston beat Moscow 23-25, 25-18, 25-17, 24-26, 15-11 in the other semifinal.

Post Falls d.

POST FALLS — Zuri Blood had 11 kills and six aces as the second-seeded Trojans defeated the visiting and third-seeded Timberwolves 25-20, 25-20, 25-12 in the loser-out first-round of the 6A District 1 tournament at The Arena.

Teresa Smith added 10 kills, 12 digs and three aces for Post Falls (20-7), which will play at Coeur d’Alene on Monday at 7 p.m. in the first match of a best-of-3 series for the district title. Match 2 is Wednesday at Post Falls, and Match 3, if necessary, would be next Saturday at Coeur d’Alene.

“I’m so proud of how our team played today,” Post Falls coach Matt Barkley said. “Our serving, led by Zuri, kept Lake City off-balance and our defense, anchored by Mia, was picking nearly everything they threw at us. Having to play an elimination game against Lake City so soon after playing them for our last match of the season (Tuesday) was a challenge. We showed our resilience again, fending off multiple Lake City runs. Michelle does a great job with her team and had them well-prepared. We had to fend off their difficult serves and strong attack.  We’re looking forward to battling Coeur d’Alene for the league title.”

For Lake City (9-16), senior Sofia Peressini had 16 digs, junior Kate Moglia 14 assists and two aces, sophomore Ella Jeanselme eight kills, junior Camryn Woodman five kills and five aces.

“Not the ending we envisioned but I’m proud of this team and the heart they showed all season," sixth-year Lake City coach Michelle Kleinberg. “They are a blast to spend time with and I’m excited about the future of our program.”
