COEUR d’ALENE — For families looking for a village of support and resources to raise their child, The Parent Summit will connect fellow caregivers Nov. 8. It is free and one of four taking place across the state, organized through the Idaho Children’s Trust Fund, Wellpoint Care Network, Casey Family Programs.

The Strengthening Families Coalition and Coeur d’Alene School District will host the event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lakes Middle School.

KJ Brant, of the Idaho Children’s Trust Fund, said it is open to up to 80 parents or caregivers and will touch upon parental resilience, social connections, parenting and child development, and community engagement.

“They're going to be given a lot of tools and the opportunity to speak with other parents and learn ways to connect, parent to children,” Brant said.

There will be a resource fair and free on-site childcare.
