Pastor Shelba Pool passed away at her home Oct. 4, 2025. She was born Shelba Dean Scraper to John and Nadine Scraper on Nov. 4, 1954. During childhood, she lived in many various places before settling in Rathdrum, Idaho, and graduating from Lakeland High School. After graduating, she married James Pool. They were married for 53 years, spending their time in love, ministry and service to others. They had two daughters and two grandchildren.
Shelba dedicated the majority of her time to pastoring alongside her husband, teaching Sunday School, and Women's Bible study. In her spare time, she loved gardening, baking, quilting, sewing and crafting. She excelled at anything she put her hands to!
Shelba was preceded in death by her brother, Monty Scraper; her mother, Jesse Nadine (Thomas) Scraper; her father, John C. Scraper; and her sister, Donna Volavka. She is survived by her husband, Pastor James Pool; daughters Catrina Franklin and Olana Pool; son-in-law Matt Franklin; grandchildren Angelina and Cayden Franklin; brothers Doug Scraper and Del Scraper; and sister Retha Marcussen.
