Volleyball: Polson tips Whitefish in 5

WHITEFISH — Whitefish battled back from two sets down to force a fifth set Tuesday, before Polson pulled out the Northwest A volleyball win 25-17, 25-15, 15-25, 16-25, 15-7.
McKenna Carley had 22 kills for the Lady Pirates and Embree Bird added 11 to go with 19 digs.
Whitefish’s Camry Kelch had 14 kills, 18 digs and four aces; Annabelle Barille had another 10 digs. Allie Shors had 27 assists and 15 digs.
“(The Bulldogs) showed some gritty play that has been missing the past few weeks,” Whitefish coach Addy Connolly said. “They played well together and. ... The front row did a great job as our first line of defense while the back row moved well in unison.
“Allie Shors mixed up the sets and the hitters swung aggressively.”
