Flathead Valley Community Band Fall Fantasy concerts planned

The Flathead Valley Community Band presents two Fall Fantasy concerts in Whitefish and Kalispell.
The first concert will be held Oct. 29 at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center, 127 Spokane Ave., Whitefish. The second will be on Nov. 12, in the Flathead High School auditorium, 644 4th Ave. W., Kalispell. Both concerts start at 7:30 p.m.
The concerts will open with “Pas Redouble” by Camille Saint-Saens. Originally composed for a piano four-hands (two players on one piano), this is a delightful homage to the spirited military marches of the late 19th century. Listeners can imagine a grand parade coming to life, full of pomp, motion, and good-natured flair — a testament to Saint-Saëns’ ability to blend classical discipline with playful exuberance.
The band is under the direction of Allen Slater.
