Halloween, harvest celebrations this season

Halloween and harvest events are coming up.

Oct. 25

• Kootenai County Farmers' Market Harvest Festival | 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Riverstone, Coeur d'Alene. Celebrate the end of the harvest season with over 100 market vendors, live music by Scott Reid, great vibes and early Halloween fun. Last chance to stock up on all favorite seasonal market produce and goodies until Winter Market. Costumes encouraged. Trick or treat with vendors and the Riverstone Village shops. Free.

• Community Trunk or Treat | 3-5 p.m., Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 477 E. Honeysuckle Ave., Hayden. Come with decorated car trunks for trick or treaters or bring the family to go trick or treating and enjoy homemade chili. Hosted by the English Point, Hayden and Honeysuckle Congregations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Everyone welcome.

• Family Friendly Haunted Jail | 4-7 p.m., Old Kootenai County Jail Museum, 7940 W. Second St., Rathdrum. Hot dogs, popcorn and hot drinks for sale. Donations at the door for admission.

• Rathdrum Parks and Recreation Trunk or Treat | 5 p.m., Lakeland High School, 7006 Highway 53, Rathdrum. Families invited to the 10th annual trunk or treat, on the east side of campus. Parking on the west side, overflow at Lakeland Middle School. Crossing guards will be present.

• Community Harvest Party | 6 p.m., Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1670 N. McGuire Road, Post Falls. Chili cook, trunk-or-treat and carnival games. Free.

Oct. 26

• Vine Church Community Trunk or Treat | 1-2:30 p.m., the Vine Church, 9140 N. Reed Road, Hayden. Fun-filled event for kids. Candy, coffee, hot chocolate, raffle prizes, bounce houses, treats and more. Costumes encouraged but not required. All are welcome. Free. 

Through Oct. 30 

• Punkin’ Stroll | Guests are invited to visit downtown businesses to judge decorated pumpkins and vote for the best. This family-friendly event is free. Winners will each receive a decorated faux pumpkin and a $25 gift certificate to one of the downtown stores. Ballots will be available at participating businesses. Halloween, Oct. 31

• Trick or treat open house | 2:30-5:30 p.m., Parker Technical Education Center, 7064 W. Lancaster Road, Rathdrum. North Idaho College will host this fourth-annual, all-ages indoor event. Participants can stop at each lab and collect candy and prizes while learning about the many career and technical education programs offered at NIC. Last year’s event attracted more than 500 participants. Games, contests, giveaways, a retro arcade trailer, DJ. Guided tours of the center and a full-size trebuchet outside to launch pumpkins with the NIC Engineering Club. Free.

• Coeur d'Alene Realty Trunk or Treat | 3-5 p.m., Windermere Coeur d'Alene Realty, 1000 Northwest Blvd., Coeur d'Alene. Family friendly. Costumes encouraged. Decorated trunks full of candy, fun Halloween vibes, crafts and more. Free.
