Personal records and season bests for Bonners Ferry High School cross country

Bonners Ferry cross country has run eight times this season in different competitions. Still to come are 4A District Championships on Oct. 23 and IHSAA Cross Country Championship on Nov. 1. As of now, the times below are the best this season for athletes on the boys and girls teams. Most of the times set this season are personal records.
In the boys 5,000 meters, senior Ethan Cowell ran a personal best in 16 minutes, 38 seconds at the Libby Cross Country Meet on August 29. Freshman Brecken Miller set a PR with 18 minutes, four seconds at the Ben Castro Invite on Oct 2 and senior Jonathan Bollschweiler finished in 18 minutes, six seconds at the same event to set a PR for himself.
Freshman Gordon Woelfle’s PR was 18 minutes, 41 seconds at the Inland Empire Championships on Oct. 4. Senior Micah Thomson finished in 19 minutes, 29 seconds at the Thompson Falls Invitational to set a season best. Sophomore Brock Tuma finished in 19 minutes, 43 seconds at the Inland Empire Championships and freshman Tyler Cordle completed the 5,000 meters in 22 minutes, 46 seconds at the Ben Castro Invite. Both were PR’s. On August 23, senior Colton Cohen ran the Post Falls River Run, a two-mile event, in 12 minutes, 45 seconds for a personal record.
In Bonners Ferry girls cross country, sophomore Kylie Calderone set a PR in the 5,000 meters with 20 minutes, 25 seconds at the Ben Castro Invite. Junior Gia Roemer ran the Inland Empire Championships in 22 minutes, 20 seconds and sophomore Cheyenne Schutte ran the same race in 23 minutes, 15 seconds to both set their personal bests. Sophomores Kya Alderman and Abigail Huggins set season best times with 23 minutes, 32 seconds and 25 minutes, 42 seconds respectively. Alderman’s best race was at the Ben Castro Invite, while Huggins ran best at the Inland Empire Championships.
Freshman Marissa Pruitt set a PR at the Bonners Ferry invite on Sep. 13 with 26 minutes, eighteen seconds. Freshman Kinzie Bradley finished the Inland Empire Championships in 28 minutes, 31 seconds, which was her best of the season. Freshman Hailey Reeves ran a PR in 28 minutes, 35 seconds at the Ben Castro Invite and sophomore Elle Sheets ran the Inland Empire Championships in 30 minutes flat.
