Two celebrated international choirs, Spiritsong and Boundless, will join forces to present "Inside Out: Reflections on Life in an Earthsuit," an original choral theater work exploring the wonder of the human body and the spirit within.

The first performance takes place Friday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. at Little Carnegie, 110 Main St., inside the Music Conservatory of Sandpoint with additional performances Saturday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and Sunday, Oct. 26, at 3 p.m. at the Kootenay River Secondary School Auditorium in Creston, British Columbia, in Canada.

Admission is by donation at the door. Proceeds benefit two vital community causes: the Second Harvest Food Truck, which delivers food to hundreds of North Idaho families each month, and the Creston Refugee Committee, the longest-standing refugee support organization in Canada.

"Inside Out" blends spoken word and song to celebrate the “earthsuit” — our human body — and its connection of body, heart, mind, and soul. The performance features an engaging mix of musical styles, from profound choral works to lighthearted, upbeat pieces.

Spiritsong is a 30-voice open women’s choir. Boundless, a 16-voice auditioned chamber ensemble, features balanced men’s and women’s voices and performs in both full and smaller ensemble settings.

The work was created and is conducted by Vicki Blake Thompson, with Barb Nelson as collaborative pianist. Together, Thompson and Nelson have led choirs that have received standing ovations at Idaho state and six-state regional music educator gatherings. Their ensembles have performed internationally in Cuba, Iceland, Greece, China, Tanzania, Costa Rica, Ireland, Austria, and twice at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Next summer, Spiritsong and Boundless will tour London and Scotland. Interested singers are invited to contact Vicki Blake Thompson at [email protected] for audition and interview information.
