Libby’s Farmer, Watson pace Loggers at Western A Classic

Libby’s runners turned in strong individual efforts at Saturday’s Western A Classic in Hamilton, highlighted by standout performances from Cody Watson and Capri Farmer.

On the girls’ side, sophomore Capri Farmer led the Loggers with a runner-up finish, clocking 19:21 to take second overall. Junior Hailey Misner followed in 20th (21:55), while Alli Clemons placed 32nd (22:32), Lillian Bailey 58th (25:11), Rylee Thompson 69th (26:16), Evalyn Cliff 74th (28:46), and Kyla Lausen 75th (29:04).

The Libby girls placed seventh as a team.

Watson, a junior, placed seventh overall in the boys’ race with a time of 17:11, helping the Loggers finish eighth in the team standings with 210 points. Teammates Samuel Erickson (40th, 19:07), Colter Anderson (43rd, 19:24), Cody Katzer (55th, 19:59), and Jake Rusdal (65th, 20:40) rounded out the scoring group. Ignacio Guerra (67th, 20:44) and Jack Hayven (75th, 22:33) also contributed solid efforts.

Farmer and Watson earned All Conference status. Adrien Holzer and Ignacio Guerra each had personal bests. 

The Logger runners will compete Saturday at the Montana High School Association Class A State Championships in Missoula.
