Maurine Gravelle passed away Oct. 21, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Maurine was born April 1, 1933, in Utah to Lavere and Genevieve Adams. She went to Sandpoint High School and did some nursing at the hospital. She married Omar Leon on Dec. 4, 1955, in Careywood. They were together for 50 years and raised six kids.
Maurine is survived by her brother, George. Her son, Orlin, and his wife, Vicki, their two daughters, Desiree and April, and their families. Her daughter, Stephanie, and her husband, Randy, and their kids, Chad, Kaci and Nathan, and their families. Her daughter, Tammy, and her husband, Channing, and their daughters, Tiffany and Tawny, and their families. Her son, Tim, and his wife, Lynnell, and their kids, Riley, Beau and Shantelle, and their families. Daughter Delinda’s boys Brandon and Dillon and their families.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Omar Leon; her son, Sam; her daughter, Delinda; her grandson, Dustin; and her siblings, Beth, Vera Rae, Dave, Wendell, Lowell and Blaine.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025, at 1 p.m. at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, immediately followed by a celebration of life at American Legion Post 143.
Maurine will be remembered for her incredibly generous heart, accepting of anyone and everyone. Her feisty sense of humor would light up any room she walked into. In the wise words of Grandma, holding her glass high, “Here’s to ya!”
