Iris Jones, 89
Daily Inter-Lake | UPDATED 1 month, 1 week AGO
This little light of mine. I'm going to let it shine. And it did — Iris' mission was to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was born in Kalispell and graduated from Flathead High School. She married Ray Jones on Nov. 5, 1954. They had three children, Bonnie, Sindy, and Roger, and also raised her sister Judy.
She had various jobs, working at Kelly Main Street Furniture as a bookkeeper and decorating cakes.
Iris and Ray had a hobby of gardening that later developed into a love of dahlias. That love developed into a beautiful, full-fledged dahlia farm known as Homestead Gardens. They enjoyed sharing the beauty of the flowers with the community, which also attracted people from around the world. After the death of Ray in 2020, she moved from the Springs in Whitefish to assisted living in Post Falls, Idaho. They will be deeply missed.
She is survived by son Roger Jones (wife Mary); grandsons, Chad Jones and Brandon Robinson; sister Judy Stokes Norman; brother Mead (Speed) Stokes and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband Ray Jones; daughters, Bonnie Jones and Sindy Robinson; grandchildren, Ashlee Robinson and Caleb Jones and son-in-law Jeff Robinson.
Services will be held next summer at Fairview Cemetery.
