Martin to be sentenced on charges

SANDPOINT— A Bonner County woman found guilty of child abuse is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 28 for charges stemming from an incident earlier this year.
Taleea R. Martin, 28, will be sentenced on one count of injury to child, where the state will be allowed to give an open recommendation for sentencing. Martin is facing up to ten years for the crime.
As part of a pretrial settlement agreement, one count of aggravated assault and one count of infliction of great bodily harm will be dismissed. Martin has also agreed to cooperate with prosecutors, assisting in their defense against Jordan Everette Gabor. Gabor, 28, is charged with several counts of sexual child abuse and kidnapping stemming from the same alleged abuse. Court documents indicate that Gabor is the main perpetrator.
Both Gabor and Martin remain at the Bonner County Jail — Gabor on a $2.5 million bond and Martin with a $500,000 bond.
Martin was apprehended on April 23 by Coeur d’Alene police for willfully causing or permitting the child to “unjustifiable physical pain or mental suffering.”
It is alleged that Gabor was the main abuser of the case, striking the victim numerous times in addition to slamming a car door on the victim. His separate case is expected to go to trial Feb. 17, 2026.
Further information on the case has been sealed due to the sensitive nature of the allegations.
“Documents of materials contain highly intimate facts or statements, the publication of which would be highly objectionable to a reasonable person,” reads a motion to redact submitted by the court.
