Kellogg d. Orofino (District Tournament) 

KELLOGG — Senior Dani Henrikson had eight kills and two blocks for the top-seeded Wildcats in a 25-12, 25-8, 25-10 sweep of the fourth-seeded Maniacs in a semifinal match in the 3A District 1-2 tournament at Andrews Gymnasium. 

“It was a great team effort tonight,” Kellogg coach Hollie Yrjana said. “We came in and played sharp after a week off.” 

Freshman Gretah Angle had seven kills and 11 digs, junior Paige Yrjana 13 digs, three blocks and four kills, sophomore Ella Yrjana five kills, 10 aces and sophomore Aleah Philp four kills for Kellogg.

Kellogg d. Priest River (District Tournament) 

KELLOGG — Senior Dani Henrikson had 10 kills and four blocks and freshman Gretah Angle had nine kills, 18 digs and five blocks for the top-seeded Kellogg Wildcats in a 25-12, 25-23, 25-13 sweep of the second-seeded Priest River Spartans in the 3A District 1-2 championship match Thursday at Andrews Gymnasium. 

The Wildcats advance to the state 3A tournament starting next Thursday at the Mountain America Center in Idaho Falls. 

Junior Paige Yrjana had seven kills and 20 digs, sophomore Ella Yrjana 21 assists and 16 digs and junior Jordyn Stutzke 19 digs for Kellogg (24-1), which won its second district title in three seasons. 

“It was a great night to be a Wildcat,” said Kellogg coach Hollie Yrjana, in her first year in her second stint as coach. “We were ready to win and played as a team tonight. Our team played great defense, never letting up and performed a fast-tempo offense. We are ready to see what these girls can do.” 


WALLACE VOLLEYBALL

Wallace d. Lakeside (District Tournament) 

COEUR d’ALENE — Senior Kylee Phillips had nine kills, 16 digs and three aces for the second-seeded Miners, who forced an if-necessary championship match in the 2A District 1 tournament, beating the top-seeded Knights 25-20, 25-11, 25-12 at North Idaho College’s Christianson Gymnasium. 

Senior Megan Hull had 11 kills, 10 digs and one block, senior Aubrey Birdsell 17 assists, seven digs, three kills and two aces, junior Grace DeLano three kills, two blocks and four digs and junior Kayden Stutzke 12 assists and five digs for Wallace. 

For Lakeside, senior Tylah Lambert had nine digs, three kills, 11 assists and one block, senior Kimberly Pluff 11 digs, three kills and one ace, senior Rayna Schatz 123 digs and one kill, sophomore Saydee Peone seven kills and seven digs, senior Alberta Stensgar two kills and two blocks and junior Alliesue Hendrickx seven digs and one ace.

Wallace d. Lakeside (District Tournament) 

PLUMMER — Senior Megan Hull had 16 kills, 23 digs and nine aces for the secondseeded Miners in a 27-25, 25-16, 25-21 win over the top-seeded Knights to win the 2A District 1 championship at Ron Miller Court. 

Wallace (16-8), 11th in the latest MaxPreps rankings, advances to state starting Thursday at Post Falls High. 

Lakeside, bidding for its first trip to state since finishing sixth in 2011, finished 15-3. 

Senior Kylee Phillips had seven kills, 18 digs and two aces for Wallace, which beat Lakeside on Wednesday at North Idaho College to force a second championship match. Junior Kayden Stutzke 16 assists and three aces, senior Aubrey Birdsell 13 assists, seven digs and three kills, junior Grace DeLano two blocks and two kills and senior Olivia Berry nine digs and two aces for the Miners, who are headed to state for the first time since 2023. 


KELLOGG CROSS COUNTRY

District Meet 

PRIEST RIVER — Kellogg’s boys and Priest River’s girls won district championships at the 3A District 1-2 meet at The Ranch Club Golf Course on Thursday. 

Kellogg, paced by junior Shadrach Creswell, won with 28 points. Grangeville, which finished runner-up in the boys meet, also qualified for state next week. 

Grangeville’s AJ Rose (boys) and Callie Howe (girls) won district individual titles. 

Priest River junior Alannah McLaimtaig was second, leading the Spartan girls to the district title with 27 points. Grangeville also qualified with 32 points. 

BOYS TEAM SCORES (Top two advance to state) — 1, Kellogg 28. 2, Grangeville 42. 3, Priest River 59.

WALLACE FOOTBALL

Wallace 80 Lakeside 0 

SILVERTON — Sophomore Cooper Miller threw eight touchdowns to four different receivers for the Miners in a North Star League win over the Knights at the Sather Field Athletic Complex. 

“Our defense was relentless all night,” Wallace coach Jared Young said. “It was a huge team effort. A lot of respect to Lakeside and how hard they played.” 

Wallace (7-2, 2-1 NSL), which entered sixth in the latest MaxPreps rankings, awaits its seed for the 12-team 1A playoff field. 

Lakeside finished 1-8, 1-2. 


KELLOGG FOOTBALL

Priest River 48 Kellogg 14 

KELLOGG — The Spartans (5-4, 4-0 Central Idaho League) clinched the league title with a win over the Wildcats (2-6, 1-3) at Teeters Field. 

Priest River, ranked 15th by MaxPreps in the latest rankings, receives a first round bye in the state 3A playoffs, which start next weekend. 

It was the season finale for Kellogg.
