District 14C tournament begins Thursday

It’s time to play for keeps in District 14C volleyball.
The seven-team District 14C tournament begins in Charlo Thursday and, by the time it ends Saturday, the three top teams will be determined and those three will then move on to the Western C divisional tournament in Manhattan beginning Nov. 6.
The 14C tourney in Charlo begins at 9:30 a.m. Thursday with Hot Springs playing Alberton, followed by St. Regis versus Two Eagle River at 10:30 and Superior facing Noxon at noon.
The Hot Springs-Alberton and St. Regis-Two Eagle River winners will then play at 3 p.m. Thursday followed by the Superior-Noxon winner versus top seed Charlo at 4:30 p.m. in the first semifinals.
The double-elimination tournament will continue in Charlo Friday and wrap up Saturday.

Lady Hawks feel the pain, enjoy gain in Mission

The Thompson Falls-Plains-St. Regis Blue Hawk girls opened season soccer plays with a couple great efforts on the pitch, playing well but falling 4-0 to Loyola Friday, and battling Polson to a 1-1 draw on their own field Saturday. Both matches were played in Polson.
