RASMUSSEN: The ideal candidate

I’m proud to support Rick Rasmussen for the Coeur d’Alene School Board. Rick has been a role model and an inspiration to me — someone who defines what genuine, community-minded leadership looks like.

Rick’s deep family roots in Coeur d’Alene and long history of supporting our schools speak volumes. For generations, his family has been devoted to helping local students succeed, and Rick has carried that legacy forward with unmatched energy and heart.

In every meeting, board or project I’ve worked on with Rick, he always brings the conversation back to one question: How will this help the kids? His focus never wavers. When a middle-school counselor once reached out for help replacing old drinking fountains, we were short $4,000. I called Rick for ideas, and without hesitation, he offered to cover the remainder himself — quietly, without fanfare or need for credit. That’s who he is: selfless, dependable and deeply committed to making a difference.

For those who don’t know Rick personally, trust that you’re electing someone who gives 100% to doing what’s right for students. As an accountant and the CEO of one of our region’s leading health care companies, Rick brings a rare combination of compassion, business acumen and fiscal responsibility that our district needs.
