Spikers avoid play-in game, but lose to Dogs, Valkyries

The Columbia Falls volleyball team went 1-2 over the last week, beating Ronan in three sets last Tuesday  25-18, 25-18, 25-22 on the road, but losing to Bigfork at home Thursday 23-25, 15-25, 25-20, 19-25. Then then lost to Whitefish on the road Tuesday, Oct. 28, in five sets 26-24, 25-22, 19-25, 21-25. 10-15.

Against Ronan, Annabelle Middlesworth led the team with 11 kills, while Rylee Sweeney had 7, Kamryn Ladenburg, 6 and Peyton Ross had 6.

Ava Scholz had 22 digs, while Jezanie Brooks had 32 assists in the win.

Against Bigfork, Sweeney had 12 kills, while Middlesworth had 10. Ashlyn Dunham had 9. Scholz led the way in digs with 34 while Brooks had 38 assists.

But the girls struggled with mistakes. They had the lead in the first set, but let it slip away in the end.

They currently have a conference record of 7-5. As they lost by five sets against the Bulldogs, they win the tiebreak as they previously beat the Bulldogs by four sets earlier this season.

Next up is the Divisional tourney, which starts Nov. 6-8, in Libby.
