The Bigfork Valkyries continued their late-season surge with a pair of conference victories last week, sweeping Browning on Tuesday and defeating Columbia Falls in four sets on Thursday to remain in second place of the Northwestern A standings at 10–1.
Bigfork made quick work of visiting Browning, rolling to a 25–3, 25–5, 25–16 win behind a balanced attack and steady serving. Emily Wisman led the offense with six kills, while Somer Campos added four and Sophia Lowell, Olivia Carlson, and Lillie Suffia chipped in three apiece.
Setter Taylor Howlett ran the offense efficiently, recording 16 assists and serving seven aces while committing no errors. Carlson added three aces of her own, and Lowell contributed one. The Valkyries’ defense limited Browning to just 24 total points across three sets, with Lowell and Olivia Claybourn each notching nine digs to keep rallies alive.
Two nights later, Bigfork carried that momentum north to Columbia Falls, where the Valkyries overcame a third-set stumble to notch a 25–23, 25–15, 20–25, 25–19 win.
Campos powered the attack with 10 kills on a .391 hitting percentage, while Raegan Waller added nine and Suffia chipped in six. Howlett again steered the offense with 28 assists and four kills, while also serving three aces. Claybourn, Schlicht, and Waller each added an ace as Bigfork posted a 94.7% team serving efficiency.
Defensively, the Valkyries were sharp at the net and in the back row. Suffia tallied five assisted blocks, and Campos added three. Claybourn and Carlson anchored the backcourt with 18 and 16 digs, respectively, while Waller contributed 10.
