Jimmy Glen Fairchild lost his battle with Alzheimer’s and passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
Jim is survived by his wife of 53 years, Juanita Fairchild; three sons, Troy, Clark and Glen; his sisters Pennie Frame and Cindy Atkins; and brother, Scott. He leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his youngest son, Gus; and his brother, Harold.
Jim was born February 22, 1949,, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Harold and Lorreta Fairchild. He graduated from Highschool in Titusville, Florida, in 1968. In 1969, Jim enlisted in the Navy Seabees and did tours of duty in Vietnam and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Jim was very proud of his military service.
In 1972, Jim married his forever love, Juanita Marie Allen. He worked as a mechanic in Bonners Ferry until he started North Idaho Energy Logs, Inc. in 1986. He successfully ran that business until his retirement in 2007. During his retirement years, Jim loved travelling, motorcycle riding, flying his airplane and spending time with his family. Jim was a loving and caring man who provided well for his family. He held his friends in high regard and often found joy in lending a helping hand. Jim found great pleasure in both work and play. To the end, he would greet those he met with a smile, a good word and sometimes, an off-color joke. Jim will be greatly missed by the many whose lives he touched.
Everyone’s invited to attend his funeral services at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bonners Ferry, Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, at 11 a.m., followed by graveside services with military honors at Paradise Valley Cemetery. A viewing will be held at Bonners Ferry Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 31, from 1-5 p.m. and prior to funeral services at Trinity Lutheran.
