Several Lake County athletes place in Class B and C meet

Mission/St. Ignatius, Arlee and Two Eagle turned in a full slate of finishes at the MHSA state cross country championships on Saturday at the University of Montana Golf Course.
In the Class B girls race, Mission placed three, led by Raileigh McDonald (81st, 23:47.4), followed by Brooklyn Leishman (121st, 25:04.6) and Quincey Jensen (162nd, 26:58.8).
Arlee’s girls were paced by Justine Shelby (146th, 25:44.0), with Kaidance Pierre (159th, 26:21.0) and Izabella Knoll (169th, 27:30.8) also finishing.
The Class B boys contest saw Mission packing six finishers: Jason Leishman (120th, 20:23.5), Jake Helser (160th, 21:13.0), Hawkaluk Hudson (167th, 21:24.3, PR), Isaac Morigeau (168th, 21:25.2), Isaiah Garipey (192nd, 22:46.7) and Sonny Matt (199th, 23:21.5).
Arlee placed six in the boys’ results: Trevor Van Maanen (35th, 18:33.2), William Fisher IV (121st, 20:24.0), Jason Wright (122nd, 20:24.2), Aiden Swab (175th, 21:31.2), Chase Courville (184th, 22:03.1) and Aarinnario North Peigan (198th, 23:21.5).
Two Eagle River featured a deep lineup in the Class C boys race, led by Dreyden Hendrickx (34th, 19:55.4) and Anthony Sheridan (35th, 19:55.8). The Eagles’ scoring depth included Raymond Mendoza (69th, 21:06.3), Jayvian Burke (73rd, 21:12.7), Gregory Plummer (83rd, 21:31.3), Ryiley Gates (95th, 21:55.1) and Jason Trahan (108th, 22:59.5).
