The Libby Loggers volleyball team honored its seniors while hosting Polson in the final home volleyball match of the season last Thursday in Libby.
Augie Bailey, Bella Meyer, Ashlenn James and Jillian Stewart were recognized for their contributions to the program.
Polson, the top team in Class A Northwest, won the match in straight sets, 25-17, 25-11 and 25-17.
Despite the sweep, the Lady Loggers had bright moments at the net and along the back row. Junior Leah Rusdal led Libby’s blocking effort with five total blocks, including four solo stops, while senior Jillian Stewart and junior Augie Bailey each added four kills to pace the attack.
Defensively, senior Bella Meyer anchored the backcourt with 13 digs and Rylee Delmas added seven more while running the offense with 11 assists. Bailey chipped in six digs and a block assist.
Libby (2–9 conference) totaled 13 kills as a team but struggled to find rhythm against a polished Polson squad that sits atop the conference standings. Junior Tessa Purdy served effectively, landing one ace on a perfect 6-for-6 performance, while Meyer and Rusdal each contributed aces from the service line.
The Lady Loggers’ blocking game continued to be a highlight, finishing with eight total blocks.
Libby played at Ronan in the division play-in match Thursday. Results were not available at press time.
