The Panhandle Symphony Orchestra will perform its fall concert at 7 p.m. Nov. 18 at Lake City High School.

Conductor Tim Sandford has chosen some familiar pieces for the audience's enjoyment, including songs from the well-known movie “Jurassic Park,” which was released in 1993 and won three Oscars as well as the BMI Film Music Award in 1994.

“Danse Macabre” by Camille Saint-Saens was written in 1874 and would go on to become his most famous tone poem. From the original art song for voice and piano, he expanded and reworked the piece into a symphonic poem, where a solo violin plays the vocal line.

Johann Strauss composed a fun polka, “Unter Donner und Blitz,” which accompanies several Christmas-themed songs that are in the performance, such as “Stille Nacht,” which was recorded by Mannheim Steamroller, and “Christmas at the Movies,” which includes songs from "The Polar Express" and "Miracle on 34th Street."

The orchestra will also be performing two of Puccini's most beloved arias, “O Mio Babbino Caro” and “Nessun Dorma,” arranged by Chris Bernotas.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Lake City High School is at 6101 N. Ramsey Road.
