Moses Lake couple injured in car crash

ELLENSBURG — A Moses Lake woman was transported to Harborview Medical Center after the car she was driving hit an embankment and rolled Aug. 29.
Amy Long, 41, was not wearing a seatbelt, according to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol. Long was driving east on Interstate 82 about 9 miles east of Ellensburg when she drove off the road, hit a dirt embankment and rolled, the WSP memo said. The crash occurred about 3 p.m.
A passenger in the vehicle, Troy Long, 44, Moses Lake, was also injured and was transported to Multicare Yakima Memorial Hospital. The WSP memo said intoxicating substances were a factor in the crash and it’s under investigation.

Boys and Girls Club logo allegedly used in Moses Lake scam
MOSES LAKE — Boys and Girls Clubs of the Columbia Basin officials are warning people that scammers apparently are using the club’s logo and claiming to be affiliated with the organization. The scammers allegedly were soliciting money door to door along Third Avenue early Tuesday afternoon.
