PREP FOOTBALL: Chapman hauls in career-highs in loss to Coeur du Christ

I grew up in the small town of Orwigsburg, Pa., where I resided all of my life before moving to Sandpoint. I attended Blue Mountain High School, where I participated in cross country and track and field, a sport that I ended up falling in love with. I went on to attend and run for DeSales University (with other brief stints at Susquehanna University and Elizabethtown College) and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sport communication with a minor in sport management. I remember just how great it made me feel when I was mentioned in my hometown newspaper. I want to be able to give that feeling to every athlete in Bonner County, no matter how big or small their accomplishments are. As an athlete myself, I know how many hours of work are put in on a daily basis, and that hard work deserves to be recognized. It is my goal to cover as much of the Bulldogs, Spartans and Wampus Cats as I can. WORLEY — Peyton Chapman caught three passes for a career-high 113 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns as the Wampus Cats fell in a North Star League game against the Saints Friday night at the Marimn Health Coeur Center.
The junior wide receiver and defensive back also posted a tied-for team-high five tackles on defense to go along with a caused fumble.
Junior quarterback Mateo Cruz tossed both those touchdown passes as he totaled 218 total yards on the night. He added 103 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown on just six carries.
Junior Haylyn Ashford-Brown rushed six times for 30 yards and his first career varsity touchdown while junior Tom Butler carried the rock eight times for 36 yards. Butler and sophomore Jason Mayorga each recorded a sack on the defensive side of the ball.
Clark Fork (1-1) is set to face Sho-Ban on Saturday afternoon in Hamilton, Mont.
