Carol May (Wyman) Grilley, age 88, of Soldotna, Alaska passed away on Aug. 22, 2025, at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna, Alaska.

She was born on Sept. 6, 1936, in Sidney, Montana.

Carol graduated from Flathead High School in Kalispell, Montana. She became a resident of Alaska in 1976. In addition to living in Soldotna,  Carol also lived in Anchorage from 1993-2000. She was a massage therapist/reflexologist from 1982-2002.

Our mom loved people and met many friends from all walks of life. Her example taught us to be loving and kind to all we meet and try to “walk a mile in their shoes”. The three of us have often talked about the adventures we had with our parents. Camping at Montana Ghost Towns, Tally Lake and Salmon, Idaho. Visits to the coast of Washington and exploring Canada, Oregon and Northern California. Mom always found fun and laughter in the big and small adventures.

She passed this adventurous spirit on to the three of us.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Rosalie Bench of Kalispell; sons, Rusty (Edie Staley) Grilley of Soldotna, AK and Randy “Ward” (Thresea) Grilley of Soldotna, AK; brothers, Dave (Etta) Wyman of Columbia Falls; sister-in-law, Linda Denegar of Kila, MT; brother-in-law, Roger Grilley and sister-in-law, Linda Grilley of Kalispell, MT; ex-husband, Ward W. Grilley of Polson, MT; eight grandchildren, plus five bonus grandkids, ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and four brothers.

There will be a Celebration of Life in the Spring of 2026 in Kalispell, Montana.

Her ashes will be interred at Conrad Memorial Cemetery in Kalispell, Montana.
